Tricia's FavoritesThis is my top of all time, not necessarily in order. Then click links to different subjects for the favs in many categories. Out of the Flames by Lawrence and Nancy Goldstone This book combines good writing, history and books. What more could you ask for. The Eight by Katherine Neville Great story with adventure, mystery, and history. Wonderfully done. Chiefs by Stuart Woods Compelling mystery that takes place over 40 years. The beginning of a great series featuring many of the same family. Charm School by Nelson DeMille Well written book about USSR. A young man disappears on a trip across Russia but not before telling someone he met an American fighter pilot who was supposed to have died in Viet Nam. I have enjoyed all of his books but this was the first. Plum Island and the rest of that series is also great. Entire Jane Whitefield series by Thomas Perry Absolutely a great series. They need to be read in order. Enders Game, Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide by Orson Scott Card More a psychological study than a strictly scifi books. Very good writer. Along Came a Spider by James Patterson the first and best by this great author. Power of Babel by James McWhorter This book is about the history of language. He makes it so fun and interesting that I recommend this book all the time and make sure to always have it in stock. Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice An entirely different view on vampires. While most people go on to read the rest of the series, I so liked the first one that I didn't need to live in that world again. Memoirs of an Invisible Man by HF Saint A unique view on our world that you would never think of. If you saw the movie, forget it and read the book. Devil In the White City by Eric Larson. About the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Red Dragon by Thomas Harris Scary, creepy, yet so compelling that I had to read it all. |
